ICIS 2026 welcomes original and rigorous scholarly work relevant to the conference theme and subthemes. Submissions should make a clear academic contribution and, where relevant, explain the human, social, ethical, organizational, or environmental implications of the topic studied.

ICIS 2026 accepts:

  • Empirical research papers
  • Conceptual or theoretical papers
  • Systematic, scoping, or critical literature reviews
  • Technology development or design papers
  • Policy analyses, evaluation studies, or practice-based papers

Extended abstracts for the Student Research Forum, subject to approval by the Scientific Program Committee



ABSTRACT

Abstracts must be written in English and contain approximately 200–300 words. The abstract should clearly state the background, objective, method, principal findings or central argument, and contribution of the work.



MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and follow the official ICIS 2026 template once released. The structure should be appropriate to the type of submission.

Empirical papers are normally expected to present the research problem, relevant literature or theoretical framework, method, results, discussion, and conclusion.

Conceptual, review, design, and policy papers may use a structure suited to the study, provided that the analytical approach, evidence, argument, and contribution are transparent and coherent.

Page limit, citation style, and detailed formatting requirements will be specified in the official template.

ORIGINALITY AND ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

  • Submissions must be original and free from plagiarism.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data, quotations, citations, references, figures, and tables.
  • Sources must be acknowledged appropriately and research limitations should be reported transparently.


USE OF GENERATIVE AI AND LLMS

Generative AI and related tools may be used responsibly, but they do not replace the authors’ intellectual responsibility. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of the submitted work.

    • AI-assisted content must be checked carefully; fabricated references or unsupported claims are not acceptable.
    • Personal, confidential, and sensitive data must be protected.
    • Use of generative AI must be disclosed when it has substantively influenced the research or writing process.


    HUMAN PARTICIPANTS AND SENSITIVE DATA

    Research involving human participants, personal or sensitive data, or interventions must report the relevant ethical procedures. Where applicable, authors should state ethical approval, informed-consent procedures, data-protection measures, and other safeguards required by their institution or jurisdiction.



    REVIEW AND SELECTION

    Each submission will undergo an administrative check and academic assessment. Decisions may be accepted, accepted with revision, or rejected.

    Reviewers will consider:

      • Relevance to the conference theme, subthemes, and objectives;
      • Novelty and clarity of the contribution;
      • Appropriateness and transparency of the methodology or argumentation;
      • Interdisciplinary value;
      • Clarity of the human, social, organizational, ethical, or environmental implications; and
      • Quality, clarity, consistency, and scholarly presentation of the manuscript.



      REVISION, REGISTRATION, AND PRESENTATION

        • Authors receiving a revision decision must address the requested changes within the deadline communicated by the committee.
        • At least one author of an accepted submission must register for the conference and present the work in the scheduled session.
        • English is the primary conference language. Indonesian may be used in selected sessions with committee approval, but the title, abstract, keywords, and main presentation slides must be available in English.

        PUBLICATION

        Accepted submissions may be included in the ICIS 2026 book of abstracts and may be considered for proceedings or other publication outputs. Publication is subject to editorial selection, author compliance with final requirements, and publisher readiness. Acceptance for presentation does not automatically guarantee publication in a particular outlet.
