Work in the Age of Algorithms: AI, Media, and Human Impacts

The International Conference on Interdisciplinary Sciences (ICIS) 2026 is an international academic forum that brings together researchers, lecturers, students, professionals, policymakers, industry representatives, and community members to discuss changes in work, education, media, organizations, and science amid the expanding use of artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems. Under the theme “Work in the Age of Algorithms: AI, Media, and Human Impacts,” the conference places human beings—not technology alone—at the center of analysis.
The event is designed as a two-day hybrid conference on 25-26 November 2026 at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The program will include an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, a plenary panel, invited sessions, parallel paper sessions, a student research forum, policy discussions, and academic networking activities. The conference integrates the social sciences and humanities with science and technology so that discussions of AI encompass psychological, communication, media, social, ethical, data-governance, digital-health, environmental, industrial, and built-environment dimensions.
